What is the Reduced Speed After Using the Full-Speed Data in an Unlimited Plan?

Updated over 2 months ago

Understanding Unlimited Daily Plans

Nesa Mobile offers Unlimited Daily Plans, which provide a fixed amount of high-speed data per day before being reduced to lower speeds. The amount of high-speed data included varies by plan and may be 500MB, 1GB, 2GB, 3GB, or more before throttling applies.

Reduced Speed After High-Speed Data Is Used

Once the allocated high-speed data for the day is used up, the speed is reduced to approximately 512 Kbps. However, this speed is not guaranteed and can vary due to:

  • Network provider limitations – Some carriers may apply different throttling speeds.

  • Network congestion – If the local network is overloaded, speeds may be slower.

  • eSIM provider infrastructure – Different network partners may have varying policies on speed reduction.

At 512 Kbps, users can still:
✅ Send messages on apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and iMessage.
✅ Load lightweight web pages (but with some delay).
✅ Stream low-quality audio (e.g., 64 kbps bitrate music).
✅ Use navigation apps with minor loading time.

However, activities that require high bandwidth, such as HD video streaming, large downloads, or video calls, may be difficult or unusable at reduced speeds.

When Does the Data Reset?

The daily period is based on a 24-hour cycle, starting from the first connection after activation.

🔹 If a user activates their plan at 3:00 PM, their high-speed data refreshes 24 hours later, at 3:00 PM the next day.
🔹 However, in some cases, data resets may occur at a fixed time (e.g., midnight UTC) based on the provider’s system.

If a user notices that data hasn’t reset when expected, it may be due to a timezone-based reset schedule rather than a rolling 24-hour period.

Key Features of Unlimited Daily Plans

Hotspot sharing is enabled, allowing users to share data with other devices.
Unlimited daily data with a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) that applies after reaching the full-speed threshold.
Custom validity period – Available from 1 to 365 days.
Up to 5G speeds before speed reduction.
30-day pre-install validity, meaning users can install the eSIM in advance.
No top-ups, you must decide how many days you require and cannot reload the eSIM.

Troubleshooting Speed Issues

If you experience speeds much lower than 512 Kbps after reaching their high-speed limit, they can try the following:

🔹 Restart the device and toggle airplane mode on/off.
🔹 Manually select a network in settings (some providers work better than others).
🔹 Move to a different location to check if the issue is related to signal strength.
🔹 Wait for the next reset period – If high-speed data isn’t restored as expected, users should contact support.
